The Purple Star Award is an honor given to schools in Ohio that show a major commitment to serving and supporting military-connected students and their families. To receive this designation, schools must meet specific criteria set by the Ohio Department of Education. Let the Warrior Echo assist your team in applying for this honored distinction; there is NO COST to your school.

Military Liaison
Dedicated military family resource page on your school's website
A process of identifying military-connected students
Ongoing activities that support and highlight military culture, and the military student and family.
Military Liaison
Provides direct (non-clinical) support to military students and families
Completes professional development on special considerations for military students
Ensures staff is informed of military students
Can enlist the help of staff, community members, and students to carry out responsibilities
Application Process
Warrior Echo can assist with the application process once you have a military liaison chosen
*Application window opens Nov. 1 and closes Dec. 15
*Awardees are announced in April (the month of the military child)
